Description

Your perfect partner for long-term cell examination

The Hi5 incubator features five conical seats for single-use Hi5i culture wells, ensuring exceptional temperature homogeneity. It maintains stable conditions with minimal gas consumption, allows easy media exchange via septum-shielded ports, and supports up to 100x magnification for detailed observation. The Hi5 equilibrates in under 2 minutes and can connect to HPLC and GC for expanded functionality.

Spotlight Your relaxed cells

Hi5 incubators are especially designed for time-lapse recordings of static cell cultures. The required exchange of culture media or the addition of sterile reagents can be carried out via septum-shielded ports direcly on the microscope stage – for undisturbed live-cell imaging, as long as desired! As a special feature, Hi5 incubators can be connected to analytical instruments like HPLC / GC in oder to simultaneously track cell dynamics and cell metabolism.

Body material

The body of the Hi5 is crafted from high-quality anodised aluminium or nickel-plated aluminium, ensuring durability and stability. Materials that come into contact with the culture medium include polystyrene and borosilicate glass, specifically the Hi5i variety, known for their excellent chemical resistance and clarity.

Components

For components exposed to humidified gas, the incubator utilizes a combination of anodised aluminium or nickel-plated aluminium, PTFE, PEEK, polyoxymethylene, and borosilicate glass. This selection ensures optimal performance and longevity under varying experimental conditions.

Sealings

Sealings are made from silicone and Viton, providing reliable and secure sealing to maintain the incubator‘s internal environment. The optical components are made from Borofloat 33 borosilicate glass, known for its exceptional optical clarity and thermal resistance, making it ideal for high-resolution imaging applications.

Heat-up time

The typical heating-up time ranges from 1 to 10 minutes, with the shortest time being 1 minute when pre-heated. Achieving temperature equilibrium with the culture medium typically takes 2 to 10 minutes, with the fastest time being 2 minutes when the culture is pre-cultured and processed quickly.

Co2 Equilibrium

Reaching CO2 equilibrium generally takes 1 to 10 minutes, with 2 minutes being typical for pre-cultured samples. The incubator is designed for minimal gas consumption, using approximately 14.5 liters per day.

Autoclavable

Additionally, the Hi5 is autoclavable, ensuring ease of sterilization and maintaining a contamination-free environment for your cell cultures.

The cell incubator on your microscopic stage

Hi5i

Hi5i cell-culture wells offer optimal cultivation conditions and excellent optical properties for various microscopy techniques. Made with polystyrene walls and 160 µm borosilicate glass bottoms, they ensure clarity for high-resolution microscopy up to 100x magnification. The glass inserts, integrated without additional chemicals, guarantee purity and reliability.

Biospir

BioSpir is a unique gas handling device designed for gassing cell cultures. It combines a pressure-reducing valve with a calibrated fixed-flow regulator to deliver a constant gas flow of 10 ml/min. Tailored for the Hi5 Live Cell Imaging incubator, the BioSpir ensures precise and high-quality gas delivery for scientific applications.
